Naharlagun, October 13 — The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) organized a “Get Together” at the Galo Heritage Centre cum Mopin Ground, Tarajuli, Naharlagun, bringing together members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) team and the ICR unit. The program, held from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, focused on restoring harmony and addressing recent misunderstandings within the organization that had led to the tendering of resignations by key members.

The event was arranged in response to a series of misunderstandings between GWS leadership and members of the Women’s Wing of the CEC. Miscommunications and misinterpretations had previously led to the resignations of both the General Secretary (Nyadar Loya) and the Convenor (Kento Nyido) of GWS on October 8, 2024. However, in an emergency meeting held on October 10 at Itanagar, the competent GWS authorities discussed the situation thoroughly and rejected the resignations, emphasizing the importance of unity and reasoned communication.

The program opened with the singing of the Galo Anthem, creating a spirited start to the evening. Following the anthem, GWS Vice President (East) Er. Kendo Zirdo provided a detailed briefing, outlining the program’s objectives and stressing the need for reconciliation and teamwork.

Ms. Bai Bam, President of the GWS Women’s Wing (ICR unit), addressed the gathering, expressing the Women’s Wing’s commitment to unity and cooperation within the organization. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a cordial relationship among all GWS office bearers, including Women’s Wing members, and offered full support for the GWS’s larger initiatives, particularly highlighting the upcoming GWS Silver Jubilee Celebration.

Sri Nyadar Loya, General Secretary of GWS, followed by addressing recent issues, including concerns about the GWS Lucky Draw and misunderstandings within the Women’s Wing. His briefing was aimed at clearing up misconceptions and ensuring transparency.

Concluding the session, GWS Advisor Sri Dumo Lollen provided guidance to the members, sharing valuable words on the importance of mutual respect, harmony, and collaboration within the society. His remarks reinforced the commitment of GWS members to work together for the betterment of the community.

The evening underscored GWS’s mission to overcome any internal discord, strengthen team spirit, and enhance the society’s efforts to contribute meaningfully to the community, with members leaving the gathering with renewed focus and unity.
