Itanagar Sep 5; Manish Kumar Gupta, an IAS officer from the 1991 AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh. His transfer from his previous role as Additional Chief Secretary in the Delhi government was confirmed by an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 5, 2024. Gupta has previously held various key responsibilities in Delhi, including overseeing departments like Land & Building, Revenue, Home, Industries, and Labour.His appointment came after the previous Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Dharmendra, was reassigned as the Chief Secretary of Delhi. There was speculation that Dr. Sajan Singh Yadav might take up the role, but Gupta’s seniority ultimately secured him the position.
